Welcome to the City of Atlanta (City) Department of Aviation’s master plan website.
The City recently initiated an update to the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL or Airport) Master Plan that was published in 2015. Several projects from the 2015 master plan have been completed, including the Concourse T-North Extension, Runway 9L End-Around Taxiway, and ATL West Parking Deck; while others like the Plane Train Turnback Relocation, Concourse D Widening, and South Cargo Expansion are underway. The master plan update will incorporate changes that have occurred at ATL and include characteristics of growth anticipated for the future. Ultimately, the master plan update will define the Airport’s short- and long-term development needs to continue providing the best possible service to airport users.
The process for the master plan update will assess expected activity growth at ATL and in the region, test the existing and planned facilities’ ability to meet that future demand, and identify potential development solutions. The master plan update ultimately will identify the Airport’s development path through 2043.
Public input is critical to ensure the master plan update considers the needs and concerns of the facility’s ultimate users. This site was designed as a resource to keep stakeholders and the public informed on the master plan update. We encourage you to visit the site often and provide feedback throughout this process.
